Things to do in Rio
Copacabana Beach stretches for about 2 miles and is the epicenter of leisure and activity in Rio. On a nice day you will see thousands of people congregate on this famous strip of beach to play soccer, volleyball, swim, body surf and socialize. From here you will really appreciate Carioca culture and why Brazilians are famed around the world as the most beautiful people. The sidewalk lining the beach is designed with black and white stones which form the famous undulating mosaic of Copacabana sidewalks.
Ipanema Beach is Rio's trendiest beach which is adjacent to Copacabana and stretches about 1.6 miles long. Soft white sands, beautiful bikini clad people and awesome views of the epic "dois irmaos" mountain peaks. Awesome beach in every way!

Located at the Jardim Botânico district in the "Zona Sul" (South Zone) of Rio de Janeiro. The Botanical Garden shows the diversity of Brazilian and foreign flora. There are around 6,500 species (some endangered) distributed throughout an area of 54 hectares, and there are numerous greenhouses. The Garden also houses monuments of historical, artistic and archaeological significance. There is an important research center, which includes the most complete library in the country specializing in botany with over 32,000 volumes.

Buzios is a nice getaway from Copacabana & Ipanema with magnificent beaches and crystal clear waters. There is a quaint center of town where you will find shopping and nightlife. Approximately 100 miles from Rio de Janeiro with a distinct slower pace and Caribbean feel. Great way to get out of the city for a few days and experience another part of Rio. Arpoador Rocks are right in between Copacabana and Ipanema in a small neighborhood called Arpoador. There is a natural formation of huge rocks jutting out into the Atlantic Ocean. Walk there from your apartment and enjoy the paths and gorgeous views of Ipanema Beach.
Barra da Tijuca is Rio's hottest new upscale neighborhood known to be the residence of many rich and famous people. The beach in Barra is gorgeous with white sand and turquoise waters. You will find a lot of beautiful people here sun bathing, kite surfing and body boarding. There are lots of great stores at Barra Shopping, and upscale clubs and restaurants. Barra is about a 30 minute drive from Ipanema and you can get here by bus or car. Great day trip!
Lapa is in the Centro city of Rio and is party central for Brazilian music and dance. Nice crowds at night time and many excellent bars and restaurants to choose from.
